We all have people that have changed our life and well… Dr. Sebi is one of mine. I can remember it like was yesterday in 2003, sitting at my desk in school dreaming about the USHA Village. I remember wondering what, why and how he was healing people?! I can also remember that this was the same year Lisa Left Eye Lopes went for healing. I was so intrigued with the long list of globally known people he healed, even down to locals.

Dr Sebi was a key factor in my lifestyle change. I was already growing up in a health conscious family, but Dr. Sebi was the fire that added to my development into health and wellness. Learning about Alkaline/electric foods and what this means for the body was a very difficult change, but pushed me more to a completely plant based lifestyle. Sitting up late nights watching YouTube and taking notes, not knowing that sooner than later I would be seeing him speak. I would take different Sebi herbs, watch and attend speeches and eat only electric foods. My world changed and I felt good in the body I was in and was able to function and focus at a high level. Learning that mucus was the only disease, I eliminated all dairy. Dr. Sebi was a revolutionary not only for health but for black people!

Later in life inspired by my lifestyle, the healers I met and my fathers passing I pursued a dream of mine and opened up a juice bar called The WaterHole @thewaterholecommunity. Surrounded by master herbalists, healers, event planners and educators I soon connected with a group of people that were very close friends with Dr. Sebi. It was an honor to be around like minds and build and share knowledge. Sitting with Dr. Sebi one on one and sharing juice I’d made special for him, listening and taking in his knowledge has been more than life changing. One of the things I will never forget, is him talking about that all disease is formed within mucus. I remember asking him what about eating rice and beans? He said to me, “If someone gives you rice and beans, they aren’t your friend.” He had this plant that he had just found in the jungle that he couldn’t stop talking about. He described that it tastes like cucumber and he couldn’t wait to get back to it. We laughed and hung out till the late hours of the night. There was work to be done that we didn’t get around to but I will carry the torched that he passed! The body is temporary, but the spirit is eternal!
